Frequently Asked Questions About Theater Plus!

What THeater Plus! is

Theater Plus! is a fun performing arts experience where aspiring actors from pre-kindergarten to 10th grade can expand their acting, singing, dancing and improvisational talents in a supportive and all-inclusive environment.

At Theater Plus! we believe that the performing arts not only expand a child’s talents, but also allow them to improve their confidence and social skills while developing a strong sense of self.

Theater Plus! offers broad-based programs for aspiring actors through after-school and summer sessions. We occasionally hold weekend workshops and school vacation sessions that help our actors expand their talents.

What are the Studios?
We group our actors into four Studios based on age and ability.

Studio A (grades Pre-K – 3)
Studio A is an opportunity for our youngest actors to experience theater through imaginative games and stories.

Studio One(grades 3 to 5)
Studio One is an introductory groups where actors explore the theater arts through games and creative play.

Studio Two (grades 6, 7 and 8)
Studio Two gives actors the opportunity to work on advanced concepts in the performing arts.

Studio Three (grades 9 and 10)
Studio Three focuses on fine-tuning the actors' skills to bring out their natural talents and let them find new approaches to the challenges of theater arts.

What should I bring?
Actors should bring a water bottle and a snack to all of our programs. Full day summer camp actors should also bring a lunch. Once you are given a script, you should bring that script with you to every rehearsal.

What should I wear?
Actors should dress in comfortable clothing that they can move easily in - theater is an active sport! It is best to wear shoes that have a back to them, flip flops and sandals can come off easily and possibly be hard to work in.

I love to work backstage and on the technical aspects of theater - can I still sign up?
Possibly! We are working on incorporating a regular Technical Theater aspect to our program. In the meantime we are accepting a few Technical Theater sign ups. If you are interested, please contact the director for more information.

Besides the tuition, what are the other costs involved in the program?
Your actor's tuition covers the entire cost of the program, including their costume(s). We may ask if you have a clothing or shoe item at home, but you are not required to go out and purchase anything. The only other cost would be the cost of tickets to see the show. Tickets are $5.

How do you select your staff?
Very carefully! We pride ourselves on having the best staff possible. All of our staff members have extensive experience working with children and enjoy teaching them. Everyone on staff has years of performance and teaching experience.
